Forest management, felling site acquisitions

As part of its forest management operations, ASLMD purchases felling sites (rights to process growing wood), and offers services such as independent property management, consultations to owners and selected works under contract.

ASLMD provides certified surveyor services: forest management project development (survey), development of Gauja National Park (GNP) environmental protection plans, felling area tracing, felling area blueprinting, felling area trunk diameter measurements, wood diameter measurements, clearing rejuvenation, young growth maintenance and standing volume maintenance.


ASLMD offers the best, quickest and most environmentally friendly services and pays the highest levels of remuneration to prospective sellers of forest properties and felling areas. Our specialists can deliver and assemble an ECO2 wood building on a pre-owned or newly acquired plot of land.

Forest maintenance principles and workflow:

  • drafting a service offer;
  • in-situ inspection of a forest property, assessment of the situation;
  • in-situ measurements, drafting a precise offer and formatting necessary documentation;
  • arrangement on works to be performed, conclusion of an agreement, procurement of necessary permits from the State Forest Service;
  • transfer of the agreement price, or conclusion of an agreement to deliver ECO2 wood buildings before works commence (for sellers of felling areas);
  • professional, timely performance of works under the agreement;
  • excellent results, ecologically and technically sound maintenance or processing of the forest property;
  • maximum suitable rate of standing volume growth or replenishment, guaranteeing sustainable long-term revenues;
  • if necessary, delivery of lumber to the stated address using ASLMD logistical capacities;
  • upon agreement, delivery and installation of ECO2 wood buildings;
  • professional maintenance following rejuvenation of young growth;
  • forest monitoring, notification of owners about necessary management works.
